35. ??? and ???

I started by making a big list of my favorite movies.  In alphabetical order. Not quite A-to-Z, but A-to-Y, anyway.

Next step: Pair them up — the first movie on the list with the last. The second movie on the list with the next to last. And so on.

Finally: Write about the pairings. Find facets to compare and contrast. For Movie Matchups #1 it turned out I had two black-and-white movies from 1961! How cool was that! Sure, one was Disney and one was Kurosawa — but both about eccentric geniuses mixed up with rival factions in a small town!

And these are all favorites. Not necessarily great movies — though a lot of them are — but movies that have meant something special to me.

So I’m glad to have a chance to talk about them. I appreciate you listening and joining the conversation.
